WELCOME TO SEED COMMUNITY RELIEF

“Seeding Kindness”

Seed Community Relief is a survivor led Non-Government Organization that was founded in 2018 by a passionate and committed change-maker to promote freedom as a fundamental human right that is free from exploitation through uprooting risky behaviors, practices and traditional norms; catalyzing a transformational activism that disrupt, neutralize and prevent the very foundations of modern slavery to create a society where modern slavery is not tolerated, survivors are supported, and potential victims are safeguarded. As a Survivor Led Organization; our work is driven by a founding vision bearer, a survivor of traditional forced marriage, stigma and social discrimination as a direction for us to leverage our unique perspectives and experiences as survivors to inform and guide anti-modern slavery strategies through advocating for practices, policies that protect, support survivors, victims and those at risk, share our lived experiences and expertise from a firsthand perspective. We have the voice to raise public awareness about the realities of modern slavery, challenging misconceptions and stereotypes with a keen focus in executing community-based prevention programs that educate vulnerable populations about the risks of modern slavery and its associated risks as well as providing resources for self-protection. A big impact is achieved through collaboration with diverse duty bearers like non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Community Based Organizations, Networks, government agencies, law enforcement and community focal person’s who are willing to support our mission and strengthen the overall response to modern slavery.

OUR APPROACH

As a survivor led organization, we are well positioned to contribute to a more comprehensive and survivor-centered approach, reintegrating survivors into their communities, reducing stigma, and fostering community understanding about anti-modern slavery and its associated risks as an intersection of community needs. So we work as a lens that magnifies an opportunity for victims, survivors and those at risk drive their own transformation as our commitment to creating a lasting impact in their lives. We believe that their opinions matter because they are well-positioned to understand their needs, their rights, the life they have gone through, and the best actions to take in challenging their problems. So we engage them so that they fully express their feelings, what they have gone through, which change they need and work with them right away from a needs assessment, project planning, implementation and insights during reporting so that they feel loved and worthy to have a renewed life.
